Eggbeaters vs Shimano SPD

Not only did my trip over to castlewellan expose my inadequate leg strength, shit navigation skills and even shitter tech xc downhill skills the eggbeaters had their last outing for a while. Could'nt get used to the float system, seems like a lot of unnecessary foot movement at times, clipping in is also more difficult. Back to the SPD's

  1. Always liked the look of them, but having Shimano SPDs on 4 bikes in the garage at any one time means it would cost me too much to try and figure them out.

Did you find plenty of steep technical XC trails to bust your chops on!?

SS in Castlewellan is no joke. I peaked on my HRM the last time I raced there at something like 215bpm. Singlespeeding it would cause complete heart failure.

    Still.
I must try it for a laugh.

  2. na didnt find that many, but the one i did fine was the decent from the triangulation pillar. insane. hand'nt a clue .a serious amount of reps is the only way thats gonna be ridden.

i can get my head around the up's alot more easier. its just a case of power. fitting a 18 at the back wouldnt really be that much of a sell out either. i'd like to get it all down on a 16 cog tho

the eggbeaters are lying about here if ya fancy a lend of them sometime
